Simple and striking, Testament is a mixed media encaustic piece that includes a transfer of an owl onto encaustic and plaster cloth. The owl sits on top of a rusty metal circle that is sewn on to the plaster cloth encased in encaustic. This cloth is attached to the wood cookie with two small dark tacks. There is a thin layer of encaustic medium on the surface of the cookie slab that enriches the surface and brings the natural details of the wood to light.
